A Historic Milestone
Established by Georgia Law
In 2026, the Georgia General Assembly formally created the Georgia Municipal Court Clerks’ Council through House Bill 304. The legislation was signed by Governor Brian Kemp on May 12, 2026, and became effective July 1, 2026.
The law recognizes the Council’s role in improving municipal courts and the administration of justice, assisting municipal court staff throughout Georgia, and promoting professional training. It also authorizes the Council to adopt bylaws, elect officers and an executive committee, establish advisory committees, and carry out the responsibilities provided by law.
